Men of Goldsmiths unite.
Within the University of Goldsmiths, and in response to the positive impact of the W.I, we propose to set up a similar society that incorportates the interests of the modern male with a traditional twist.
This means reclaiming the title of the Gentlemen's Club, from the decadent negative connotations of the past, to a modern & diverse organisation that represents the pursuits and ideas of the new Gentleman.
Our preliminary ideas/events that would incorporate the positive traditions of the Gentlemen's Club include:
- Visits to sporting events such as Cricket, the Races, Rugby and Football
- Socials which include Beer tasting, Poker nights, Gigs, Snooker/Pool nights, Pub Crawls, Food nights
- Afternoon Club (discussing of news and current affairs)
- Inter-society/university projects
- We feel that the presentation of the Gentleman is an imperative element with smart dress code and good etiquitte
- General Banter
As previously mentioned these are just general initial ideas, and we are looking forward to discussion and creation of other possible ventures.
